ROCKY Apex computers must come equipped to operate under a variety of extreme conditions. That’s why this rugged tablet is MIL-STD 810F compliant for resistance to rain, shock, humidity, vibration, salt fog, altitude, and extreme temperatures. Additionally, this unit is compliant to Industrial Standard IP54 for dust proof and water resistance. The combination of MIL-STD 810F and IP54 makes this rugged tablet virtually indestructible.

Unlike other rugged tablets on the market, the Apex is capable of running with a full Windows XP operating system (not just the tablet version). Users can be confident that the Apex will not only be a dependable and reliable rugged tablet but will also provide maximum functionality with WIN XP.

Sealed in a magnesium casing, the Apex is resistive to the tough environmental concerns public safety and industrial professionals may come in contact with. The sealed port and connector covers provide further protection against foreign matters and help ensure that the rugged tablet stays in a productive working mode. As a precautionary measure to reduce the likelihood of damage, the rugged tablet is rain, dust, vibration, and shock resistant as well. With MIL-STD 810F compliance and even more rugged computer features than a standard tablet, the ROCKY Apex is sure to perform under the most extreme conditions.

Public safety and industrial professionals simply have more expansion capabilities with Apex. From storing data to transmitting important information, the Apex tablet is ideal for use in the field. This rugged computer comes with a variety of I/O ports for increased device integration capabilities. In addition to LAN, Serial, and USB ports, the tablet also includes one mini PCI slot and two PCMCIA slots as well as an option for two additional internal mini PCI slots.

From working under the bright sun to dimly lit conditions, we understands that many public safety and industrial professionals work in a variety of environments. The 8.4” 800 x 600 sunlight readable LCD display ensures that users will be able to read and operate their rugged computer under brightly lit conditions. The resistive touchscreen allows customers to use either a gloved hand or a stylus for increased options and ease of use.

The optional hardware for the Apex rugged tablet further increases its mobility and flexibility. Notable options for the mobile computer include a locking adjustable stand, a docklight for port replication, and an external second battery for longer runtime. Also available is rugged external backlit keyboard, ideal for use in dimly lit conditions.
