Advanced Modular Platform

Our unique Advanced Modular Platform design allows for easy device integration and field servicing. The Advanced Modular Platform's open architecture design provides for an array of device integration options including wireless communication such as GPRS, CDMA and 802.11. The Unlimited also is available with interchangeable components such as a FDD, CD-ROM, DVD/CD-RW, and second HDD and secondary battery. The ROCKY Unlimited rugged notebook was designed to meet your specific industrial needs.

Fast Field Access

ROCKY’s Field Fast Access allows for swapping and self servicing of key components from the field. The interchangeable components are housed in the ROCKY’s “Smart Bay” and with our unique coin-screw release they can be easily removed and replaced. Field servicing saves our customers valuable time and money.

Alpha-Star™ Sunlight Readable LCD (ASSRL)

We developed the Alpha-Star™ SRL display for maximum sunlight readability. ASSRL provides users with a full-screen, sunlight-readable LCD that significantly increases screen image contrast and reduces reflective glare. For instant data and communication access, the display is also equipped with a touchscreen. With its resistive touch ability, personnel can use either a gloved hand or the stylus to access data simply by touching icons or links on the screen.

MIL-STD 810F and IP54 Compliant

A rugged notebook must come equipped to operate under a variety of extreme conditions. That’s why ROCKY Unlimited rugged computer is designed to MIL-STD 810F and IP54 compliance, for a rugged laptop that is resistant to rain, dust, shock, humidity, vibration, salt fog, altitude, and extreme temperatures. The combination of MIL-STD 810F and IP54 certification makes our rugged computer virtually indestructible.

Rugged Features

In addition to MIL-STD 810F and IP54 compliance, the Unlimited comes with a vast array of rugged features to protect the unit from the most extreme conditions. The ROCKY Unlimited is housed in a tough magnesium casing with unique anti-trauma corners to offer the unit unparalleled protection. In addition, port covers have been included for added protection from external elements. The ROCKY’s HDD is insulated by shock absorbent cushions mounted on the top and bottom of the HDD. These cushions help minimize damage in the event of a major or unexpected jolt.

Through Fault Tolerant Isolation design, each chamber in the ROCKY Unlimited is individually sealed for added protection to the motherboard. In the event that outside elements should penetrate the ROCKY’s external ports/chambers, the Fault Tolerant Isolation design will prevent penetration and subsequent damage to the motherboard. 

Superior Docking Solutions

We provide a choice of two types of dockunders, either the vertical or the horizontal model. Both models provide port replication for trouble-free mount and dismount in the vehicle.  With a choice of either two USB ports or two PCI slots, the horizontal dockunder offers multiple expansion capabilities for greater integration options. The vertical dockunder was designed with a convenient downward port design for user-friendly connectivity and mounting. Both dockunders feature a support arm that secures the LCD in place and reduces the effects of movement and vibration.

Additional Features and Options

The Unlimited rugged notebook is also available with a BackLit keyboard as a standard feature, allowing for use in dimly lit environments.  For greater performance the Unlimited is available with 2GB RAM as an option. Also available are additional internal or external COM ports. The rugged computer has been field tested for compatibly with numerous software and hardware applications.  ROCKY Unlimited rugged notebook is an ideal solution for the demanding needs of fire, EMS and law enforcement personnel.
