The RK8-M leads the way in offering the first notebook computer to offer both standard built-in military connectors, as well as an integrated DVI interface. When there is no room for failure, RK8-M's integrated military standard connectors provide the necessary mission critical security under the harshest field condition. Using the latest technology in analog and digital video output, the RK8-M through its integrated Digital Visual Interface (DVI) port enables a pure digital connection to flat panel displays and the new generation of DVI-equipped digital projectors.

Advanced Modular Platform design is a unique and innovative solution to simplify the servicing and upgrading processes. With a combination of wireless options, swappable components, and device integration, the rugged notebook guarantees fast and reliable service. RK8-M rugged laptop design allows personnel to field service a number of components, reducing system downtime and ensuring a successful field deployment. A second removable hard drive provides data security by enabling the user to quickly remove the hard drive, therefore preventing unauthorized access to sensitive information.
Alpha-Star™ Technology
The Alpha-Star™ SRL display to address the need for better visibility while working under bright sunlight conditions. Alpha-Star™ significantly increases screen image contrast and reduces reflective glare for maximum readability under all conditions. The display is also available with an optional resistive touch screen capable of use with either a stylus or finger for added convenience.
MIL-STD 461 Certification
This computer is available with MIL-STD 461 certification for electromagnetic emissions shielding. MIL-STD 461 ensures the RK8-M rugged notebook's performance will not be affected by radio frequencies, magnetic and other disruptive emissions during mission critical field use.
MIL-STD 810F Certified
A rugged notebook must come equipped to operate under a variety of extreme conditions. That’s why rugged computer is designed to MIL-STD 810F certification. The rugged laptop is resistant to rain, shock, humidity, vibration, salt fog, altitude, and extreme temperatures. It is also
IP54 certified, making them dust and water resistant by industrial standards. The combination of MIL-STD
810F and IP54 certification makes rugged computer virtually indestructible.
Superior Docking Solutions
The dockunder enables the RT7-M rugged laptop to be easily mounted & dismounted from vehicles. With multiple expansion capabilities, including a choice of either two USB ports or two PCI ports, users experience greater device configuration options. The vertical dockunder was designed with a convenient downward port design for user-friendly connectivity and mounting. It also features a support arm that secures the LCD in place and reduces the effects of movement and vibration. Additionally, port replication allows for convenient device integration.

The exclusive Fault Tolerant Isolation is an encapsulation process that ensures protection to the motherboard from water, dust and other foreign matter.
