2 Slot CardBus to PCI Expansion System

Today, mobile computers provide more performance and flexible options for professionals that work outside of a typical office environment. Until now, a number of professionals remained reliant on traditional desktop or stationary systems to provide the type of functionality required for their PCI-based applications.

With the increased robustness of notebook computers, this 2 Slot CardBus-to-PCI Expansion System eliminates the need for a desktop or stationary computer, and provides mobility to demanding professionals… even for their most challenging applications. Now you can use your favorite notebook computer in the same capacity as you would use a full-size desktop machine.

2 Slot Cardbus-to-PCI Expansion Systems provide two full-length PCI slots in a separate enclosure (chassis) that connects to a PC notebook or Apple PowerBook through a CardBus slot.  With PCI Expansion Technology, everything installed in the enclosure actually acts as if it's inside the notebook.

Common applications benefiting from the PCI Expansion System include: Medical Imaging, Camera Interface, Video Processing, Military Installations, Industrial Automation / Control, Multiple Monitor Workstations, Test & Measurement, Audio Editing, Video Effects and Video Capture.

    Two full-length PCI slots increase the functionality of your notebook by providing a way to attach PCI cards to your mobile computer.

    The PCI Expansion Technology is incorporated into a Type II CardBus card, which provides a 32-bit connection to your notebook, and extends the PCI bus outside of your host computer. Our 1 to 1.5 meter flexible cable provides a high-speed communication link between your notebook and our PCI Expansion System.

    AC and DC-ready models are available to meet virtually any mobile professional's needs. A 90 Watt AC power supply is standard. a DC power supply is available for use with any 12-volt DC power source, such as a battery or auto adapter.

    Two quiet fans provide optimal cooling to your cards and disk drives within the vented enclosure.
  • Save Your Work
    There is room within the enclosure to accommodate two standard 3.5" disk drives.
  • Easy Installation
    Install the CardBus into the PCMCIA slot of your notebook computer, connect the cable, add your PCI cards and disk drives, power up and go.

    Use with a desktop computer when a PCI or PCI Express host interface card is purchased separately. Non-enclosed Board-Sets are available for OEMs and System Integrators.

For the OEM, we offer Non-Enclosed PCI Expansion Board sets. You provide the enclosure and power supply, we provide the Patented MAGMA PCI Expansion Technology
